Posted November 08, 2019 15:31:04 A man has died after crashing his car into a supermarket in Melbourne’s south-east, police say.
Police said a 29-year-old man from the suburb of Eastleigh was driving on the A40 at about 7:45am when he collided with a car at a traffic light in the suburb.
The driver of the car, believed to be the suspect, got out of the vehicle and was able to get out of it, police said.
He was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital where he later died.
The victim’s name has not been released.
No one else was injured.
Police say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash was caught on video by the car’s dashboard camera.
Police have launched an investigation.
The incident comes just weeks after a woman was killed in Melbourne after a speeding car hit her car in the city’s east.
Police launched a murder investigation into that incident, which occurred last month.
